The joys of being a mom....

So last week we had another round of the stomach flu hit our house. Dylan had it first followed by Josh and I at the same time a few days later.... We all had it and got over it and moved on.. THEN THERE WAS MASON..

I awoke to a gagging noise coming from his room I rushed down there to find that he had thrown up... and went back to sleep in it. YUCK... SO I began cleaning that mess up and cleaning him up. It was 1am and I had the washer going and scrubbing everything well Josh peacefully slept in the next room with out a care in the world. Just when I thought I had it all cleaned up. I noticed the dog looking a bit funny. So I picked her up. BAD CHOICE. The dog had been in bed with Mason when he threw up and YUP... Mason had covered the dog in puke...................So the dog got a bath as well ...
What a long night....
Things have been slowly back to normal around here and so far so good as far as William goes......

So it happened..... Mason turned 4...

Officially at 8:52pm last night. Mason became a 4 year old. All day long I kept reminding myself that technically has still 3 until 8:52pm. Poor guy spent his birthday sick but we still made the best of it. Friday the day before his birthday we too him to Chucky cheese and then to toys r us and told him he could pick anything out there he wanted. No Joke... he picked a small little water gun. Of course we probably have about 10 of them out in the shed with the pool stuff. I tried to talk him into a few other things so he settles for one other thing. Some nerf something and that was it. He was ready to leave....=-( I guess I need to teach that boy some shopping skills. Even Dylan knew better. When he got off the bus that night he said to Mase... so what did you get? Mason showed him. Dylan said...ummmm...oh. That is all you picked.
Yesterday on his actual birthday we had a home party for him which was a huge turn out out. He had 15 kids here, mostly all cousins and family and then all the adults that came with them. He easily had over 30 people here. The house was full and the present pile was high......... He had a a great time .
We finished the day with pizza at my mom and he fell asleep on the way home and slept straight through the night until 9 am this morning. He was spent.......
He awoke today... officially a 4 year old...=-(

The things kids says.....

Mason never fails to crack me up randomly these days..... Dylan really never did either...... How soon we forget..

We were driving in town to BJS whole sale store and Dylan said he could not wait to get there and try all the free samples. He then proceeded to ask Mason if he would also like a free sample. Mason looked up at Dylan with out missing a beat and said.. and I quote

"Oh Dylan... ain't nothing free in this town" hahahahaha Josh and I laughed all the way there....

Sick kids...

Wow it seems like the New Year brought in lots of New germs in our house. Since January we have had stomach flus, ear infections, pnuemonia and runny noses and bad coughs.. Yikes. I am so over Winter in Maine.

Will has decided wiping his nose on any available surface is the way to go. So gross. Mason has a little more class. He uses his sleeve. Dylan is just getting over his illness of which he coughed on every possible surface of this house at least 5 times a day well yelling. " I am covering my mouth" Yuck.

Josh decided to bless our house with another Stomach Virus yesterday. Now I feel like we are all just lined up waiting for our turn for it to strike us. Lovely!!! I nicely told him that it was fine with me if he thought sleeping at his moms house was the best choice since he was in the car when he became sick and his mom was closer then coming home. LOL That did not work. He brought the germs home.........BLAH

Last time the stomach virus was in this house it was like we were standing in an assembly line waiting for our turn to be hit.......and we ALL were with in five days of one another.. EWWWWWW EWWW

So I am ready for spring ......... to say the very least...

What is crazy any way?

Seems like we have a lot of "crazy" days lately. Which makes me ask myself. what is crazy really? Is it the fact that we have ten things going on at once around here so when Mason asked for lunch my reply was "didn't you just have a donut" then the mother in me realized just how badly that sounded. LOL I then prepared him a real lunch. =-)
Or is crazy the fact that every day to keep the little boys busy I let them Dance to Lady Gaga bad romance and know that I have at last 3 minutes and 40 seconds to sit here and check FB because I know they will not stop dancing until the song is over.

Is crazy the fact that Dylan knowingly put on his boots this morning knowing there was a old wet sock in the toe? No that is just odd???

I guess I am not really sure what crazy is. It could be trying to get two kids dressed while they do circles around the house and the third is in his room yelling that he can not find his socks, which were lying on his bed....

Whatever the def. of crazy is... I probably would not change it....

Secrets... (from Daddy)

So the baby fell and got his first "real" boo boo last night above his eye. It was was heart breaking to see. However I was quick to point out to Josh that he was with in arms reach of him and I was all the way across the room. This made Josh quickly point out to me that ........I was home all day long and he probably does not know half of what goes on here during the day including minor accidents the kids may have and such.

Well laying in bed last night I had to laugh to myself and also wonder if there was any truth to that statement..... and although I denied it as soon as he said it I could not help but reflect upon the last few months in this house. Being a SAHM is not always all it is cracked up to be... but it often cracks me up. And NO I do not always let Josh know the crazy happening of this house hold while he is at work. Especially if I come out looking bad. LOL
In 2010 alone... let's see.
I told Mason that he was a big boy and no longer needed the toddler seat on the toilet when pooping. Well he reluctantly agreed and went into the bathroom to take his first attempt at pooping on the potty with no seat....... DISASTER
He ends up screaming for me. So I tell him to hold on a minute of course I am assuming he wants me to wipe his butt as usual... So he kept screaming finally about 2 minutes later I finished up changing William and went in to do one of my many job titles. "the butt wiper" and there it was MASON stuck in the toilet . His little bum was probably sitting in the toilet water... or just about. OH no. I run. .pull him out he is pretty mad at me by this time for not coming quicker. And there you have it. A huge red ring around his bum from being stuck. It faded quickly and so did his anger at me for the moment of OOPS but man... Daddy did not find that one out that night......

Of course then there is William.. Cute little William .. mommy thought it would be a great idea to set him in the laundry basket for a picture. Now why on earth did not think..oh gosh he will stand up and flip that over is beyond me. I watched him as he began to stand and YUP I was holding my camera watching him ..then it happened he flipped right out of the laundry basket and on to the floor. He cried. I cried... He was fine. I still cried... man.. I guess we forgot to tell Daddy that one too....=-)

Well I am off for a bit..

March 1st, 2010 I think it is time for a change.......

Now what kind of a change one may ask?? Honestly? I am yet to figure that out...
It is time for a change. I feel like we have been in a funk around here since Christmas. Mostly me I do admit. I have had little energy and have been hating Winter in Maine, Hating not getting out of the house and hating the extra weight that Santa gave me for the holidays. I looked around today at my three boys and thought wow.. I am a very lucky person. I thought this even though they all have colds and I had little sleep last night. I thought of the people out there who have really sick kids, have lost a child , or can not have any of their own to begin with. I started feeling really badly about the funk I have been in lately and realized just that. IT IS TIME FOR A CHANGE.
Time to get out more. Do more things that I use to do.
Sometimes staying at home can lead to funks. I no longer want to do this. It is March 1st. Mason will be 4 in two weeks. William is now 15 months old. Although not really sure when since Feb. had no 30th?? LOL
Dylan will be 10 next month. I want to look back on the years and be sad that it went so fast but also know where it went. Not that we have not had a great last few years. I just want better. More memories and more fun.....
That is my goal for March...
More fun. More energy. More silly dances around the living room..........
